Designed by John D. Pederson and patented in 1915, this pistol was designed with a device which lessened recoil. Production of the .380 began in 1919 and stopped in 1927, though sales continued through 1934. The .32 caliber was produced from 1922 through 1927; sales also ended in 1934. Very well made with three safeties: thumb, grip and magazine. The pistol fits the hand well and is pleasant to fire. Both calibers are identical; changes were made in inscription on the slide and in finger grip serrations during production. Total production appears to have been about 75,000, of which 50,000 were 380s. An extremely high quality pistol.
