Made at the Czech state arsenal, beginning in 1922, the first samples were by Mauser in Germany and the pistol is very similar internally to their 1910 model. Barrel and lock are similar to the Austrian Steyer. Originally made as a commercial pistol, it was sold for Czech service use, the first pistol so used.
